| Season |
Beach Junior Athletics basketball and cheerleading season is in the winter. Registration runs mid-November through mid-December. The season runs from mid-January through mid-March. |
| Practices |
All basketball teams and cheerleading squads (ages 5-16) have one practice per week on a weekday evening. Practice locations vary each year based on their availability, but some we've used in the past are Avalon Church off Indian River Road, Faith Bible Church off Virginia Beach Blvd., and Galilee Episcopal Church off Pacific Avenue. Cheerleading squads will practice on Monday nights at Avalon Church. |

| Parent Participation |
Beach Junior Athletics is a volunteer-run organization. Because of this, parents are asked to help with various jobs such as being a team mom, assisting with pictures, and assisting with the banquet. |
| Coaches |
All of our coaches fill out coach's applications where they are required to give their Christian testimony. The league provides a statement of faith so that all parents can be assured that coaches are in agreement with basic Christian doctrine. |
| Teams |
The administration of Beach Junior Athletics takes great care when dividing the teams. We strive to make all teams as even as possible in number and skill level. Team size is limited so that each player is assured to play at least half of every game. |
| Age Divisions |
Teams are divided into the following age divisions:
Cheerleading: girls ages 5-16
Basketball: co-ed ages 5-16 (children will be divided into 4 age groups according to enrollment...usually 5-6, 7-9, 10-11, and 12-16).
Basketball Buddies: ages 2-4

Basketball: Tennis shoes with non-marking soles, black basketball shorts, basketball of appropriate size to be used for practice.
Cheerleading: White tennis shoes, white socks, skort, and pom-poms. (The skort and pom-poms are ordered by the league but paid for by the parent).
